was looking through an older (not too old) AHJ and was curious as to when some of these herds "went out"? I'm sure some of our grizzled vets might know. And some may still be around and I am just unaware.
No particular order and any stories or recollections would be interesting (to me at least)

Pied Piper Farms bought a bull in some sale this year.
I don't think they ever truly dispersed although they have had dispersion sales.
A man who worked for them, Doyle Ponder, was a source of many stories about Anxiety 4th Herefords and the early years when my Dad and I visited their place several times in my youth. We bought 2 sons of their herd sire, Golden Superior, and a number of females from them.

I know John Schmidt and Feddes (Marvin) are still going strong. K & B had a dispersion in 2010.

hardy and chuck went Red angus in the mid to late 90's, last I knew tommy was still in business but had turned 07 commercial, ABC and Murray still register a few, james birght dispersed in the late half of the 90''s-some where in that time frame anyway, When orville dispered Wishbone somewhere around 13-14 years ago he bought into the Valentine NE salebarn and still has a few commercial Hereford interests.......
however,
Middleswarths, Pied Piper, Feddes, Schmidt's, Courtney's, Raymond Nelson, Holmes and Bruce Orvis (last I heard) are still going strong. if fact my carload pen is directly across the alley from John's and Jays is one up from John's at Denver and Nelsons have ben bringing cattle to the yards the last couple of years. the Holmes deal is now called by Drake.

Stopped for a quick visit with Orville Beyea on my way thru Valentine this past January. He is still very much a die hard hereford fan. He' s doing some writing about past Hereford history and events. Also helps advise some young breeders in the area.A great old gentleman. Oregon hereford ranch, Bill Bennett brother, raised done great foundation cattle. Lot of Selkirk I beleive. Fed des still raise some very good cattle. Think Jacks Valley ranch was Johnny Asguaga who ran the casino in Reno. Visited him years ago when he was using a bull of ours. Great guy. Basque heritage. No longer in a Herefords but the Reno show deal still happens. Had a few great visits with Murray Brown back in the Midland Test days. Hardy Von Forrell was married to Mary, daughter of the owners and manager of the Midland test, Leo Macdonald. Kinda sad to think of so much breed diversity we have lost

Bright brothers sold out in 2000, as I understand it a divorce or estate settlement forced the sale. Went to the sale with my dad and grandfather, and we had lunch with Geno Pedretti before the sale. My dad bought a few cows. They were hard doing cows that made the Ochs cattle look moderate. I had the opportunity to talk to Ken Ochs a few years after they sold the cows to New Mexico. Ken said that environmentalists forced them off the ranch in Gunnison, Colorado.

If you are referring to the same Radakovich that I'm familar with which are about 15 minutes away from us haven't visited them in quite some time but I would not be shocked if they still have some commercial Herefords on their farm but they are mostly raising Black and Red Angus now: www.rccgenes.com/

I think the Nara Vista people were Jay Camack (Camco). He was one of the first I remember getting into embryo transplant pretty heavily. Was it Kent Phifer who showed his cattle?
I think Northern Pump went out about 76 or 77. Went to that dispersion with my Dad. He had always liked the Colorado Domino cattle and they had done well for him at Par-Ker's. Charlie Higgins must have gone in the late 80's. 26 Bar and Granite Hills in 85. George Werth went Saler route around early to mid 80's I think. Rusk went Angus somewhere about that time. Alfalfa Lawn seems like soon after Joe got killed in a farm accident around 90. Johnny kept the ranch til about 2006.Spur Cattle Co. was early 80's. Wasn't TT Herefords the precursor of Stone's? Waggoner Herefords of Wyoming sold in the early 80's to some area people who's name escapes me. Don't think they stayed with registered business very long. Last I knew Wayne Fields still helps Middleswarth's part time. Lives in Henry.Seems like Hinman's did not stay with Registered cattle too long after they moved to Nebraska. Maybe longer than I remember. I think Selman's have gone club calf route. At least one of Butch's boys. George Harris sold out to EE. I think EE has gone more cutting horses since Bill Ellard's death.Bill Jacobs was killed in a car wreck around 5 years ago. Think his son has gone all commercial. I think Wilson's all commercial. Big write up on them in High Plains Journal 2-3 years ago.Seems like Still House was in late 70's. I think John McKnight went Brangus in later years. John Venhuizen is Churchill. Harland Herefords seems like about 10 years ago. Orville Beyea told us Adams Ranch is still going. I think he said Roger Chenowyth was still there but not many registered cattle if I remember correctly.

I think Randy was referring to Jensen Brothers of Circle Montana. We bought a good set of heifers from them when we worked for Charlie Higgins. I was only acquainted with Earl. Good cowman and a very nice person.

Still House sold out in the late 60's or early 70's. Cobbler Mountain is now owned by Nancy Golightly (Henry Sander's) daughter and her family. They have a small but good herd of about 30 cows.

Goemmer bros went commercial when I was still a young pup. Used some red angus and saler before coming back to hereford.
Toured Schroeder and Radakovich in 93 on a csu tour. Schroeder was strictly commercial and Radakovich was breeding red composites and Barzonas.
Enjoyed several conversations with Orville Beyea when he was dispersing.
Dad and grandad sold a package of hfrs to pronger brothers long before I was around.
A few names in some of those lists not too well thought of anymore, at least in hereford circles. . .
Learned a few showmanship tricks from Darris Cummings when a young pup. . .

The exit of whiteface breeders is not only a North american issue - I would estimate we have seen nearly 50% of members leave the hereford breed in Australia in the past 20 years.

LeRoy Born went Angus. Saw him at an Angus sale around 10 years ago. Last I knew Harry's family still had some Herefords. Stopped by there maybe 7-8 years ago and had a nice visit with Harry, and Lynn. Harry had a bout with cancer about the same time as Wayne Haygood but beat it to the best of my knowledge.
Post Rock seem like has been gone quite a while. Use to see Ray Forbes son Warren once in a while but have lost track of him, A neighbor of theirs Eulerts must have gone out in early to mid 2000's.
Seems like Lund's dispersed in late 70's . I think Carlson's bought the mother of The Arrow in that sale. I have always heard good things about their cattle but never got to see them. I think The Brooks Family received an Honor in Montana the last couple of years. I think one of the brothers is still alive. Grand Daughter's husband Bob Weaber is K-State Extension Cow-Calf Specialist and is well thought of.

Stone Ranch was precursor to Oregon Hereford Ranch. Just changed the signs. Oregon Hereford Ranch was the precursor to Lone Star... Doug and Don Bennett cherry picked pretty good at Stones... Doug Bennett partnered with Sam Friedman and went to Texas with the cows... Don kept a hand full of cows there at the old Stone Ranch. Don also was partners in a big feedlot just north of the old stone ranch.
TT herefords was Trayer and Thompson and then Thompson only.. They sold sets of cows to Howard Stone, Bob and Edna Harrell and others.. Then Bill Bennett bought the ranch and cows that were there... Changed the signs from TT to BB and they had a turn key place..
Peckenpaugh were in SD and bought some really good bulls.. Last I knew Margaret was still raising cattle..
Carlson Herefords had two of the strongest breeding bulls I ever saw... Arrow C Advance and L1 Domino 920501... Arrow C Advance came along when the frame race was starting and got left behind. CH Domino 439 was show bull sire of the year once and maybe twice. They bought him with Ron Baker for 6k at Coopers and Sold 1/2 interest to George Harris for 250K... he threw some breed changers and some cattle that sure worked..
Rock Creek was Ron Bakers son... Moved it from Ada MN to Eastern MT...
Green Gulch bought a great set of cows from Carlson's for 5k around and a sire or two to go along with cows they had. They had a family happening and sold to Sehorn in California... Sehorn got in trouble for some inside trader scam and got to spend time in one of the State institutions with free college... the cows sold at Shasta Livestock in Cottonwood, CA with no papers... I bought a group of those cows.
Bruce Orvis passed in 2010 and the family are still running it.
James Bright is running a Club calf operation with his step sons the Leo Bros. James and Cherie Carrabba (of club calf fame) were married in April. James had a bad accident falling from a haystack a couple of years back. James is still involved with the Bright family operations with Eddie, Bill and Virginia.
Spur cattle Co... Sam Moore... Sam had a unique operation in the Sand Hills of Nebraska. He won many club calf pens shows and even won a new truck for one of those. It was at his place that I first witnessed the spotted trait in Hereford cattle.
