Doug shared his good fortune with us, time for NedJr. to tell us what happened from his vantage point.
Maybe he bought 100 head?

Ned didn't get squat bought. Now, that I'm totally amazed about! Spend so much time looking at cows for someone else, like me, that you couldn't find time to look for yourself? Thanks, again, for looking at that Lot #171 cow for me. I took your advice and tried to buy Lot #16 but I wasn't going to pay anywhere near $5000 for her. George

I think I had 171 highlighted. I'll have to get the catalog back out and see.

I think I had 171 highlighted. I'll have to get the catalog back out and see. Going through the videos, #171 was one of the most impressive looking cows. But she had lost this year's calf, so she wasn't milking for one like the rest were. I was concerned about her size - and seeing her in the ring on DV Auction, I'm sure she was larger than my ideal. I might have still bid on her had she not sold for much, but she sold for $4500 and that was more than my budget. George

I didn't watch the videos. I had 163 marked not 171. I was going by the picture only. I had highlighted a handful that had WWR and YWR at 95-100 thinking they may have been affordable, but sadly I didn't even feel like sitting in front of the computer that day. In bed on Hydrocodone and Tylenol.

I wonder what the story behind the story of the despersion is? I think most of the story is outlined in the pre-sale literature and in that letter. I understand, of the 157 females purchased by this group, only about a dozen were the weaning age heifers, so that pretty well explains why they seemed to be a better value than the older cows did. I wanted to say "Good Luck!" to Ken too - but I'll expand on that by saying that I hope ALL the investors are still good friends 10 years from now. If they are, then that means this joint venture was probably successful! George
