Let's work to keep more family farms viable and in the family. Too many farms are lost and families estranged because of avoidable reasons. Tolstoy lied when he wrote “Happy families are all alike; every unhappy family is unhappy in its own way.” There are things that I have learned the hard way about family farming that I want to help others avoid. And there are lessons that I need to learn from others experience. The problem is that family farming involves so many issues that aren't pleasant to discuss like being screwed because so and so is screwing a screwball.
For 2020, let's stop hoping things will work out and start making things work right.
