So anyone interested in being a neighbor, this place is for sale about 4 miles from me, 7000 acres. These are the same family that owned the Bell Ranch 290,000 acres when Herefords ran on it. eldon stock farm

$75,000,000 around $10,500 an acre. What does that make a cow unit cost? Maybe you need to come be our neighbor. Good ranch about 10 miles east of here for sale. Taxes about $3 an acre.

The old rule used to be 3 1/5 to 4 acres for one cow unit. With the changing weather we have now I'm not sure you can calculate a stocking rate till the years over with, then decide whether you overstocked or not. At $10500 an acre cow would need to have a calf every year for about 200 years to make a profit at todays prices. Moving to the midwest would be tempting to me, wife's idea of moving out west would be San Diego
