A Tandileofú bull we bought a few weeks ago. Four generations back the pedigree shows LCI Super Voltage 15W, HH Home Builder. 5th generation Stanway. upload images for freeUnfortunately we had to put him down today. He charged into one of our employees, luckily no serious injuries. No choice.

4 years old so calves on the ground already?, thought he looked younger than that from the horn length. Why do they have " Typical of the Race " on the paper.

I've found that Race is the word many latin countries use for Breed......

Yeah I've noticed that, just thought it was unusual to see it wrote on a paper, be like seeing "normal looking Hereford" on U.S. papers. Who decides it's typical, what would be non typical?

He sells bulls at 3 year's age. This one was ready for a show last year that was cancelled unexpectedly. It doesn't show in the pedigree but "Típico de a Raza" refers to the coat or colour, as submitted by the breeder ( )

It is nice to see a pedigree where most of the cattle in the pedigree have the breeder's prefix. Is the Stanway you reference Stanway Lad 9C?

Yes it is, and you can follow the maternal line several generations also. Stanway Lad 41F, seven generations back. I suppose 41F was imported into Uruguay in the 70's

Hate to hear that. The pictures sure looked like he had wild eyes but my tamest cow could look that way in the wrong situation. Do you think it has something to do with the bloodline?

15W certainly would not help the attitude.

15W certainly would not help the attitude. One of my favorite things about HT is honest appraisals like this. So missing from mainstream where every bull is ‘the Greatest’. Sorry to hear about your bull, Carlos but sure glad no one was hurt.

I wish there was a place where we could submit dna samples on animals that we have issues with so that we can identify any genetic cause and demonstrate to our customers that we have taken care of the problems.

Sorry about the bull Carlos, what's the idea behind keeping the bulls till 3. I guess old school. He claims that well developed are stronger and last longer. We start using our own bulls at 14 months, just on grass. It may be a little early, some we discard the following year.
