This is a picture that I took of my home raised herd sire, Terpning, this last weekend between rains. He is not happy that I've let Bailout do the majority of the work here this year!

Nice looking bull George, how's he bred? Thanks! He's sired by C LR DIESEL 2030 ET, who was a flushmate to C NOTICE ME ET: His dam was sired by ATLAS DIRECTION 19K, who was a son of Keynote out of a Line 1 dam: And her dam was a daughter of DR ACHIEVER 8403 who was also linebred to GK GENETIC EXPLOSION and KING TEN on her dam's side. Here is a picture of Terpning's dam as a calf beside her dam: Here is a link to Terp's AHA pedigree: www.herfnet.com/online/cgi-bin/i4.dll?1=3E3F292A&2=2434&3=56&5=2B3C2B3C3A&6=5A5D5B59592558202F&9=51515127

I like him, how is he for width? Harley, he is plenty thick and wide. He may not be quite as wide based as his sire, Diesel, was as a mature bull, visually, but I don't think there is much difference in the thickness that he passes on to his progeny. Here is a rear picture that I took of him as a calf: That picture serves to remind me of how dry it was here the year that Terpning was born and how little grass we had then.

Thanks for all the good comments! I am probably my own worst critic of my breeding program and the results. When I took this picture the other day, I looked at ol' "Terp" and realized that he really hadn't had anything but hay and pasture since last November. And he has probably spent less than a month total where he was getting any grain since I first turned him out with the cows as a 15 month old bull three years ago. I think he looks pretty good!
He did get to breed one cow and 3 heifers this winter ...and I'm probably going to turn him in with 3 or 4 more heifers in the next few days.
When Bailout goes back to Perks next year, I plan to restart my 100% AI sync program on the cows I have left and "Terp" will get clean-up duty on the polled cows...and if one of these 40W sons doesn't test as HYF, he may get clean-up duty on all of the cows.

George,, So pleased to see that "Terp" is getting some work done for you. He sure is a solid Hereford bull.

It's a pity there's so much water between us George cause I could find some girls to keep him company for a while.

George looked at the GBR breeding on Atlas. He goes back to Cammack breeding. I was raised in the area of his place and his Dad was the one who helped teach me to rope left handed.
