I have a copy and would loan it out, but like George said, you can call Jim Lents and he will send you a copy of the book.

Maybe its just me, but I think he could have been a lot more informative in the book, I wasn't impressed.

Maybe its just me, but I think he could have been a lot more informative in the book, I wasn't impressed. I actually felt that I got more from the book when I read it the second time, about 5 years after the first time that I read it. That may say more about where I was in my own breeding program, 5 years later, than what was in the book.

Maybe I should read it again, I probably read it about 8 or 9 years ago.

I'm with Harley on this. I have read it at least three times over a span of years and really not too much meat there for me.

I Know I sure had a GOOD time telling Jim Lents he was being hypocritical when he didn't encourage his kids to marry eachother since he does that with his cows!

Maybe I should read it again, I probably read it about 8 or 9 years ago. The difference for me was looking closer at the pedigrees that Gudgell and Simpson had woven together and recognizing the importance of the cow lines as well as the sire lines in the way they were bred.

I saw it more as a history lesson than anything, useful once you learn to put it in proper context.
