How does it work? And should it be used to select bulls for making replacement heifers?

Do Herefords have a stayability epd? I thought Red Angus only had an epd for that.

Do Herefords have a stayability epd? I thought Red Angus only had an epd for that. Canadian Herefords have a stayability EPD as does the Red Angus. I was researching some pedigrees and I found that some cattle had poor numbers despite having ancestors which produced to old age. Inspite of any defects in the methodology, I believe that measuring fertility and longevity are of the utmost importance.

Another number to be manipulated and abused. Better off to study those performance pedigrees and get to know the people you deal with and their cattle.

On AHA, you can pull up every calf out of a cow. You can follow it real easy unless it's an ET cow, and then you can but there is liable to be gaps and lots more calves.
