LFF is catching a lot of negative feedback about his new purchase from Largents.
But it seems a lot of young Hereford bull calves are lacking masculinity at 6 months of age anymore and many are from popular herds.
Any thoughts about why?

I think it is the birth weight problem. Seems like to get a good stout bull calf you are pushing a bigger birth weight?

I don't think it has anything at all to do with BW, but alot with later maturing cattle, over emphasis on breeding backfat away, overempasis on milk and the misconception that a masculine bull's bullcalves will look like mature bulls at birth.

It's sad that bulls lacking appropriate sexual characteristics are automatically deemed "maternal" or "heifer" bulls. Sadly, the breed is getting just what it has been selecting for...a "girly man" Where are Hans & Franz when we need them the most?
