And I almost used him a few years ago.... I tried Global...had a couple of calves...and was disappointed in them. They looked like Herefords - just not really good ones! Based on everything that !'ve seen sired by him, I would say he is very inconsistent as a sire.

And I also will admit that there are AT LEAST a couple of those WLB cows that I would be interested in owning - IF the price was right!

I judged a show back in 2011 where I saw quite a few of his calves and that made me go off Global completely. They were fine boned, rough coated calves that didn't look like they'd survive my mismanagement

Yes, but I learned he was crossbred when I saw progeny. I didn't mean it accusatory. Sucks to learn something "after the fact". A Fact of Life, at least in my case

Genetic Engineering is a real worry for me, when man seeks to by-pass the laws of nature( where she has her own safe guards ) the only way is down hill. The never ending pursuit of man to create something bigger or better, never coming to the understanding when "good" is good enough. If ever this line of thinking is seen, it is in the cattle stud breeding world. In the words of one of the wisest men ever to have lived " all is vanity. "

Nanotechnology and genetic engineering are going to cause trouble for mankind and maybe in my children's lifetimes.

Iread an article that China has almost gotten to the point of identifying what genes create intelligence. The goal of the project is to gain 5 to 10 iq points per generation. Scary
