I've talked to Jack in person about it on several occasions and feel like I'm getting the run around. He says it is his partners decision and he will talk to them. I emailed Ridder's and got a terse email back saying: >>We'll start collecting the bull soon. We'll get back to you with pricing then. Thanks for your interest.<< I like the bull. Guess we'll see what happens on semen. Would be interested in your pic. ~Glenn Chitwood I would not bother with people who give the runaround because there are so many good cattlemen and nice people who would appreciate your interest in their bulls.

I also liked the 3297A bull at Holdens. He went to Coleman's the following day. I think he'll breed really well there.

Both dams of 3297 and 4105 I liked as well. 4105's dam is quite an athlete for an aged cow.

Since Ken quit posting, I'm going to have to dig up that picture of 3297's full sister and post that. Hard not to see the relationship.
Thanks for the info, guys!!

Glenn, I don't know if you could encourage Ken to come back on. I for one admired the pictures of his cattle and scenery.

Anyone used 955W? Any good/bad about him?
I have had 2 purchased 955W daughters. I really like them.

Without a doubt the most impressive L1 bull I have seen as an individual.

I have used 955 heavily in Australia. I bought the rights to him out here. I can't speak highly enough of that bull. His calves are exceptional bar none. Our oldest calf is 15 months now (below). I have sold some semen to other breeders & I am getting plenty of really positive feedback from them. I think he's going to make a mark in Australia.
15 months - out with a herd of heifers.
10 week old bull calf - heifer calf in background is REAL good.

A couple more pics
Here's the bull above as a 5 or 6 month old calf, just on his mum no special treatment.

tried to post a couple pictures but didn't have any luck. Have used a couple straight station bred bulls as of late that have really improved fleshing ability. L1 Domino 08590 is a bull that would like to try. He goes back to to the dam of the Holden 4105. Have used RH XP L1 DOMINO 5057 that adds thickness and his daughters udders near ideal.

I liked the look of the GB L1 Domino 177R bull's calves at Coopers & Hoffman's. The bull was there too & he was impressive - plenty of lift about him without compromising thickness.

Picketwire - What can you tell us about the dark red bull near the center of your photo posted 20 Aug?
Extremism to protect liberty is no vice.

I'm guessing the dark red calf just left of center is the one you are asking about. Feb calf dropped at 80 lbs sired by JA L1 Domino 8633 and out of the 940 cow, a mostly L1 female with a few touches of mark Donald and Canadian influence back a couple generations. Will see how he continues to develop, he ain't perfect but his cow family is one of the tops here. All easy keepers that stayed sound, fertile and productive for a long time and that is a big part of the recipe of profitability around here, and everywhere I would hope.
