I Constantly Mantain a whole Breed Outcross Herd! I Actually Just flushed & implanted 5 embryos by a 4411 son yesterday! Didn't figure it would hurt 2 use a common bloodline for selling genetics!

Bob Hug, Jan Oleen and I threw around the thought bout buying 4411 when he was in the Denver Sale and didn't because none of us needed another bull at the time. look back on that and wonder how bad a mistake that was not to buy him.
can still remember him tied on the wall next to the scale on the Hill.

It might be just as big of a mistake now. We need some of these type cattle back in the purebreds if the breed is going to continue selling range bulls. These cattle kept many outfits in business through some very tough times.

First off, I must commend Jay for reaching back into the semen tank and using the older genetics. I am intrigued by the BB domino 1087 sons as I felt that 1087 was a bit lanky.

Calf Bring $17500..topping the sale so far.... Wes Woolery Hat Creek, CA looked real serious at buying him with another breeder, splitting fall and spring possession, but both of us couldn't get past how he traveled, especially on his right hind leg on the video of him. data wise however he was one whale of a bull.

In July I purchased the mother (0043) and grandmother (5043) of lot 26 from BB. I also purchased a semen interest in the sire (1003). 0043 was bred back to 1003 and on 1/9/16 she gave birth to this calf who is a full brother to lot 26.

The sire, 1003, is pictured in BB's ad on the inside front cover of the July Hereford World. I think that picture does a really good job of showing what I am looking for in a sire. As an aside, on page 76 is a picture of 0145X, my venture into L1 genetics. I think those 2 pictures epitomize the phenotype I want in a sire.

Jay, the calf pictures were back in early April, but we did get 2" of rain this past Sunday. We were getting really dry; grass on the poor ground was dying. We are done with hay for a while and looking forward to a chance of up to 3" or more rain over the next few days. If that happens we should be in good shape. It seems our best grass is after a dry spell breaks and we have certainly been dry.

Yea very dry here to. We have missed every rain. They either dissolve before here or go north or south. Does look like rain this morning though. I have 17 acres of hay left to do.
