Everybody has been feeling their oats lately. Let's try to get back to more fruitful discussions. Agree to disagree. And in putting my money where my mouth is, if somebody wants to ask Alexander back, I'll allow him to re-register.
I deleted the Black Hereford thread. For four reasons:
1. Black Herefords are basically crossbreds 2. The poster tried to be sly with the black and white deal 3. The poster tried advertising "for his neighbor" (Suspicious the neighbor showed up to lurk immediately) 4. As crossbreds, I am not sure they even have a registry anymore. The one was abandoned and I see they are trying to start another one.
If that offends anyone and they feel the need to leave then don't let the door out hit ya where the good Lord split ya!

4. Actually, the ABHA has not been abandoned and is still functioning today and better than ever.
But the other stuff is 100% percent opinion and not fact based and I am pretty sure that all ellettherefords did was post a picture and then when someone asked he answered and posted more pictures. I think real problem lies in the fact that you commented on how good a Black Hereford Bull looked.
Now you can delete this if you want, and this will be my last post on here.

No you did not see the link he posted. And why do I see ads promoting the "new" black hereford association. And yes you are gone. Goodbye!

In trying to be fair I was sent this.
>>The ABHA registry has not been abandoned. It had huge growth last year. There was a small group that wanted to reduce the standards to allow for lower percentage cattle. The registry currently requires 87.5% Hereford for a purebred. This group has started a separate registry, but I hope that breeders will want a purebred registry and not just a composite registry. The ABHA has not seen any slow down in registrations from that small group leaving. We are trying to produce Herefords that are black, so we are currently up to 96% Hereford on some of our cattle.<<<
I am trying to be fair about all this, but this is my forum. And it is called Hereford Talk. And I don't consider Black Herefords to be Herefords.

Black herefords do not exist at all. Animals that are marked as herefords that are crossbreeds do exist but they are still crossbreeds

I have been wondering what a "black Hereford" is supposed to be? Is it in fact a Black Baldie?

I have been wondering what a "black Hereford" is supposed to be? Is it in fact a Black Baldie? It's Joe Hogland's home brew run amuck. nothing like giong from frame 7 showcattle and ton cows to starting this thing. what to have an interesting conversation about them, call Tom G. he and Art Handel judged their national show last year. oh and Craig Ludwig is thier secretary (damn---I wish he was still with us) f1 matings outa registered parentage bred to other f1's outa regeistered matings, then those black hided cavles are bred to other black hided calves or herfords with the goal of being bred up to 15/16th hereford or greater. same format as how the exotics bred up here in the 70's and 80's but the cattle have to have a black hidewith this game.
