If the numbers we saw earlier were correct, then I just don't know how they can even be believable. Just comparing cows in my herd I see one with a bad udder that has a score higher than some pretty good uddered cows in my herd. That in itself would be believable but I have been turning in scores on these cows and I know I have been turning in much lower scores for the "bad" uddered cow than the "good" uddered cows. It sure must have a lot of bias built in for pedigree if it can outweigh actual poor scores being submitted? My guess is the numbers we saw had to be incorrect. It sure must have a lot of bias built in for pedigree if it can outweigh actual poor scores being submitted? ... they'll get it straightened out and you got L1 ' s so I wouldn't worry about the bias.

That is exactly what I said. I will look it up when "the good numbers come out" but what I saw the other day had Cow A with better number than Cow B and I know I reported cow B several scores higher especially on suspension!!!
I believe this is going to be the straw that breaks the camels back of a lot of breeders as far as the believability of EPDS if the continually see things happen like this. (ie: I know Cow B has a better udder and teats than A and I REPORT it that way but A continues to have a higher value EPD)

So for those of us who are commercial breeders...what are you talking about? Seems, that the folks in Missouri have become a little to focused on udders.

Yes I do it on computer. Would be interesting to know how they have been using data submitted as one score. Thats a good question. I'd like to hear the answer to that one. I don't see how they can use all the years worth of single scores if they are having two epd's. Anyone know? Edit: unless they say there is a certain correlation between susp and teats.

I think Ward mentioned a correlation in his monthly article this month.

I just read the world and I qoute "as you know we switched to a two-score system in 2008"
then how the hell come us folks that still submit data on paper have been allowed to only submit udder data on the old TPR one udder score system the last 7 calf crops since this "switch".
who dropped the f'ing ball on this one and what really pisses me off on this one is I have been scoring suspension seperate from teats for giong on 25 years.
between the complete farce of inaccuracies EPD's have in this day and age on anything young combined with this kinda crap it makes me wonder why I still pay the fees required to be a "performance breeder" and for that matter why I even bother registering my range bulls anymore since vertually none of my customers care about the papers anyway.
