As a number of the "talking heads" on the news networks predicted, the resolution of the raising of the debt ceiling failed to prevent the downgrade of the credit rating of the US.

Any thoughts about the effect this will have?

I imagine both sides will prepare campaign material blaming everything on the otherside and do nothing to right things.
