Japan has printed the equivalent of $600 Billion in the wake of the tragedy over there in a weeks time. Amazing.

That is a great example of how far nations are going to prop up asset values by devalueing money. What will trigger an end to it? A barter economy? My dear departed aunt, who was a history teacher all he adult life, used to tell me that 'every great nation or civilization has fallen because of oppressive taxes'. It looks to me like the thing that is really gonna squeeze us is state and local taxes. |
