Well plenty of news about the Waggoner Ranch this week. I've seen a couple of videos full of Herefords, obviously not the main story but must have played a role in the ranches history. Does anyone know much about the herd bloodlines, history etc?

Practically my next door neighbors. They ran straight commercial Herefords for years. They were pretty mongrelized recently with the addition of lots of Angus and Charolais bulls and even a little Brangus. Still lots of straight Herefords on the ranch. At good capacity they ran around 14,000-15,000 cows but were down to about 7,500 cows last I heard. Wonder what the new owner is going to do?

Glenn at one time when I was a youngster they owned a ranch in NE NM that bordered some ground my family owned. They always ran replacement heifers on it. They were good quality Herefords. Don't believe they ever bought any Bulls in that area. The heifers were brought up there after weaning and kept till they calves. Sure they ran heifers elsewhere but seems they would calve 4-5 hundred head there every year.
