They're OK, ideally you want them more like the one on the right otherwise you might as well breed angus

Hello from Scotland Iffarm! I too prefer the one on the right, but the one on the left has good eye pigment and may just be going through a leggy growth phase - how old are they and what's their breeding?

Look post legged to me. Other than that they are ok. I can see they are going to be bigger than what I prefer but TOADS are in the minority.
Breed them to something that has some meat in them and they will be ok.

They are November calfs. The paternal is a remitall son but I am waiting for papers. I picked them from a calf crop in June they had not been weand long but I liked the google eye calf the best at first but as they starting to grow the other is definitely made up better. I am standing eye level with there feet when I took a pic with my phone it did make them look big. Thanks for all the input I like this board there has been a lot of good info here. I never realize how dedicated a purebred man is. I picked Hereford becose I like them and there temperment. Now I need to figure out what kind of Hereford I want. I know the goggle eyed one has a belly and not much butt I liked the eyes and didn't notice the rear end legs are pretty good I will take more pics in the fall as yearlings. They both had bellys at the time they where just weand in a dry lot with free choice feed. First time picking replacement heifers that young that where not mine.
