Glenn: Sounds like an excellent sponsor for all our National Shows!!!!!!!!
I've heard [no first hand knowledge] it's hard to win if they aren't Fatt, Fuzzy, and have 6 people working on them.

If you look closely at the ad you will see the guy called "Professional Cattle Expert". I have worked for lots of clubby people before they were called clubby. Like those who consider my concerns radical, there was a time I listened to and respected people from that world. However, over the last 35 years, I have come to realize that when they influence a breed the way they do Polled Herefords the breed becomes irrelevant to the real world. Just ask any Iowa auction market operator what he says when a club calf breeder brings calves to sell at his auction. "Professional Cattle Expert" my a$$.

Saw that too Tim......Was wondering what a "Professional Cattle Expert" really is? One more note, THEY have never influenced me.

that's old news, daughter's had a can of fawn and cinnamon in her steer jackpot box for giong on 2 years now.
I think I might even have an old can or two of the patterson supply auburn and hamm's brown around here somewhere.
ahhhhhh..........at least a feller don't have to wash em with peroxide like the old meller yeller days.
as far as steer jockies go, Kirk's about as good as it gets. happens to also be a really nice and friendly feller. expert....yes as far as fitters go, the rest, well.......................

I have met Kirk and his family. They are good people. Just earn a living a little different than I do. We go by his place when we go to feed. A hard working show cattle pro. I think his real talent is clipping and preparing an animal to show. With that being said I had about the same reaction as some of the others on here when I saw the ad.

The whole cattle fitting industry is just cattle deception or a hobby at best. Our two major bull sales in Alberta have been dry brush show rules for several years now. No glue,no adhesives, no paint. Averages between 8500 and 9000 this year on about 200 bulls. Doesn't seem to matter when all are presented and judged under the same conditions

Those that think this is a joke should take a look at the halter horse world. Showing cattle for some has become a sporting event. I wrote a letter to the editor of the Paint Horse World some 20 years ago about halter horses. The punch line was " While watching the judge place the champions I can almost hear him giving his reasons. ""I place this stud Grand Champion because he would make a #1 on the rail at Central Nebraska Packing"". I have often wondered why the Halter horse people never had a bumper sticker on their trailer "EAT MORE HORSE". I believe that many show cattle end up in a box headed to the grocery store. IMO many show cattle have no useful breeding purpose. Some don't build a stock car, fish, hunt, golf, etc. They buy a freaking "COW" and "SHOW"..... because it is the "COOL" thing to do.
