106 yearling bulls $7587 32 two year old bulls $7613 47 reg heifers 21 commercial heifers 19 horses
The Harrell and Mackenzie families rolled the hospitality on a beautiful warm day. They served Coffee and donuts for the early arrivals and continued with a Tri Tip Lunch that was outstanding. Commercial cowmen packed the pens and the sale barn. The offering was presented well and the bulls were ready to go to work. The Quality ran deep in a set of very uniform cattle and horses.
The addition of Col Rick Machado along with long time auctioneer Col Butch Booker lead one of the hottest bidder participation sales I have attended. Katie Colyer with LiveauctionsTV and John Andras in the Superior Auctions nest were busy. Jay George kept things flowing and everyone informed.
Following the sale The Northwest Genetic Partners ( Harrell Herefords, Thomas Angus and Zoetis Animal Health) Hosted "The Cowboy Gathering" Dinner and Social at the Historic Geyser Grand Hotel in Baker City.
I texted a friend during the sale yesterday to inform him of the spirited bidding with almost everyone wanting in. His simple statement was " HEREFORDS ARE BACK"... yes they are and they are in demand....

Can anyone that attended Harrell's sale give an opinion of the Bulls and Heifers sold? Mr Sidwell... I thought they had an outstanding offering. Was it you that bought the #39 bull or was that family? I thought you were sitting down in front of me? They were cowmans cattle....

That was my brother and dad. My operation is in Oklahoma. We use some similar genetics but have also went a totally different direction with our program. I was watching off and on, the entire offering looked really uniform but sometimes it is really hard to tell on a video. Just wanted another opinion to confirm what I thought I seen .

I am sure he must be a good bull by how he sold. One wont know until the calves hit the ground. Watching online and looking at videos I have found can be decieving at times. Several years ago after looking at pictures and videos of sale cattle at a large ranch, I decided to go to their sale. What I found after I got there was the exact opposite of what I seen in the videos, and in this case was a very positive surprise.
