Just curious if anyone knew how these two sales went? What were the high selling lots? How did the full sister to Boyd Masterpiece look? Value to hear what folks think of Masterpiece calves? Steve

According to the Buy Hereford Facebook posts:
The Breeders Cup held at Boyd Beef Cattle, Mays Lick, KY continued the strong sale season this fall. 60.5 lots averaged $6,499 and 41 embryos averaged $637 making the entire offering gross $418,375. A nice sized crowd bid actively on the female offering and bred heifers and pairs were in strong demand. Lot 2 and 2A was selected for a total of $27,500 as Boyd 22S Rachel 115 a 10/7/11 CRR About Time 743 bred to Boyd Masterpiece 0220 for a mid September calf brought $15,000. Her August 19,2013 heifer by TH 22R 16S Lambeau 17Y silenced the gavel at $12,500. This is a great sale that is held at Boyd Beef Cattle on an annual basis. Also participating in the sale are Doss Hereford Farms, Smithville, MO, Grassy Run Farms, Winfield, WV, Wolf Farm, Alexandria, KY, Hopper Herefords, Maysville, KY, Cottage Hill Farm, Petersburg, WV, Sunnyside Farm, Dresden, OH, Flat Stone Lick Farm, Marianna, PA, Glenview Farms, Shinglehouse, PA, and Matheny Herefords, Mays Lick, KY. Congratulations to these consignors for a powerful set of cattle. These consignors annually bring a stronger set of well bred cattle to this event each year. Definitely a sale to put on your travel schedule if you are looking for a great cross section of sound genetics. Headed to the Walker sale in Tennessee slated for this upcoming Monday. It promises to be a good one also.----Joe Rickabaugh
Walker Polled Hereford Farm "Foundations for the Future 14" was a tremendous sale. 68.75 lots averaged $8,761 with a total sale gross of $632,500. Topping the sale was lot 16 and 16A at the $50,000 mark. Lot 16A, Walker Bristol 10Y 140 408B a January 9, 2014 son of NJW 73S W18 Hometown 10Y left the ring at the $30,000 mark. His dam Walker Miss W193 W19 140 a March 12, 2011 daughter of SHF Wyatt P20 W193 brought $20,000. Guest consignors in this sale included Belle Meadow Farm, Wartrace, TN, Dirt Road Farm, Franklin TN and Jernigan Farm, Columbia, TN. A really stout offering from the first to the last lot. Last year this sale averaged $7,683 on 61.83 lots. Congratulations to Eric and crew on a great event. Quite a weekend between the Boyd and Walkers sales. Great job to both sales.----Joe Rickabaugh
