Helped clean out the shop today and came across a nice collectible we had forgot we had. My Grandfather Lyle Kidwell was a herdsman for E.B. Gee from 1972-1979 before he became the manager of NS Polled Herefords until he retired in 1995. Anyone here have any stories to share about this ranch perhaps? I was born in 79 so most of my memories were spending time in the summer as a kid when NS was in Portland, IN and getting to help out with some of their show cattle and baling hay.

The E.B.Gee Ranch was heavy into the R.W.Jones Jr Victor Domino cattle. Prior to the 1975 RWJ dispersal the ranch had purchased some of the top RWJ bulls selling at private treaty. Most notable at that time was RWJ Victor J3 373 who was out of the herd bull producing cow RWJ Victoria F74 J45. They purchased several head in the dispersal sale and for a few years after that sale it seemed like the E.B. Gee ranch or Tjardes Farms would buy every RWJ cow that was auctioned off. Later they would purchase an interest in OR Dom 549 F243 who was a very popular sire on the polled side. They had several successful production sales. I am not sure when they dispersed.

Thanks for the info! Always interesting to learn about the past. While cleaning out the shop came across some old weathered leather straps that looked kind of rough that my brother and I were ready to throw in the trash pile but dad stopped us. Apparently they were old neck ties/straps used for showing cattle back in the days.
